Explanation
The hammer (or malleus) is one of the three bones of the middle ear, leading the sound from the ear drum in the inner ear. The other two bones are called incus (or anvil), and stapes (or stirrup). A normal human being can hear sounds in the range between 20 and 20,000 Hz. However, sound waves in the range 1000-4000 Hz are the most easy to interpret. A normal conversation is typically between 200 and 5000 Hz.
