Explanation

Obelix is the large and simpleminded menhir-scultor, who can eat several wild boars at a a time. He fell int cauldron of magic potion when he was a baby and is therefore permanently superhumanly strong. Asterix and the other charaters only gain this strengh if they drink of the magic potion. In many ways, Obelix is Asterix' opposite. He is one of the characters in the comic book series "Asterix", created by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo.
