M. Night Shyamalan was born in India in 1970 but moved to the US as a child. He was meant to become a medical doctor like his father, but instead chose to become a film director. His three most famous films are "Unbreakable", "The Sixth Sense" and "The Village" which are all set in his home state, Pennsylvania. There is thus a certain autobiographical element to his films.
